Dr Andrew Prior - Executive Chairman

Dr Andrew Prior is the Executive Chairman of Finway International. After studying in Switzerland and the United Kingdom he worked for a major South African Mining Company before becoming a Professor at the University of Cape Town.

He left the academic life in 1994 and since then has been active in the world of international finance, offshore banking, trust formation and investments.

Haris Marcopoulos was born in 1962 and graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1988 he achieved his Masters in Business Administration.

He has had an outstanding financial career to date, receiving acclaim in a number of spheres, having consulted as a business analyst with a number of international companies in South Africa. He has been extensively involved in the international financial and investment arena for a number of years. He headed the international treasury operations of South Africa's largest food company for seven years.

In 1995, he formed Finway International bringing a wealth of corporate financial experience to the personal investor. He advises clients on a wide range of financial affairs and has a deep knowledge of South African needs and international markets.

Rob Picard - Senior Analyst

Rob Picard was born in 1964 and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1989 with an Honours degree in Business Economics. He later qualified in Property Valuation and International Tax. He served as an officer in the South African Air Force, later also lecturing at the Military Academy which is a faculty of Stellenbosch University.

His experience includes Investment and Private Banking, having worked for leading South African Private Banks. In April 2009, he joined Finway International.

Shanaaz Arend - Senior Administrator

Shanaaz Arend was born in Cape Town in 1976. She has attained a senior bookkeeping certificate and has extensive experience in Investment and Private banking administration. She joined the firm in 2000.

Claudia Schmidt - Research Administrator

Claudia Schmidt was born in Port Elizabeth in 1985. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media and English at the University of Cape Town. She joined the firm in 2009 and assists in research and administration.
